72 GMC C2500 - Paint color options
My 72 GMC C2500 could use a paint job to take care of the rust and fix a few minor dents, but the same time it looks cool in it's original Ochre and White. If I repaint, I'm tempted to pick a blue and white vs the original Ochre. I like the original just not sure I'm going to love it and with the cost of a paint job I'm debating options.
Is original colors a big deal for future sale or a nice truck sells itself. Any comments on cool color options or original or leave as-is? |

I think it looks pretty good as is. Maybe spruce up some of the trim and then see what it looks like.

That's a good idea. I should fix up the trim before paint and see how it looks. If I repaint, the trim will need work/replace anyway. Thanks for the thought.

Re: 72 GMC C2500 - Paint color options
You know, your truck right has a nice look, and doing nothing costs very little. It's also not stock, as the bumper and the wheels are not original. If resale value is important to you, I believe that returning it to stock is the way to go, but a good paint job is not cheap.
You could go part way, and make it a stock truck with patina. Fix the trim, find some OEM wheels and a front bumper, and it would have that survivor look. But it's your truck, and you should make it reflect what you like. Personally, I've always like the ochre and white two tone, but that's just my personal taste.

Re: 72 GMC C2500 - Paint color options
I'd paint it original. Never judge an old paint job by how it looks now. It will be bright fresh shiny and new. The non-original things mentioned are simple bolt-on/bot-off items that don't affect it's originality. Even when modifying one of these trucks, staying with the original color is your best and surely the safest best. Also the easiest and cheapest.
