New Member wondering about H2 wheels...

Hello, i just picked up a '97 Suburban 2500. I tinted the front windows the same day and found some H2 wheels for $300 the next day. I have searched the internet high & low for pics/info of the H2 wheels on the square body burban but have not found very many. a few questions i have:

1. My understanding is that they will fit properly but i need to change lug nuts. Is that correct?

2. I have to modify my stock center cap if i want it to fit, is that correct also?

3. 285/70r17 may scrub but 265/70r17 will fit perfect. any recommendations on which tire size to use?

first hour i bought:

A couple hours later, i tinted front windows:

H2 wheels i bought:

Re: New Member wondering about H2 wheels...

You can use the stock lugs off the 'burb. Actually you have to if you want to use the center caps. I had to take quite a bit off the cap for the to "snap" into the H2 rim. I can take a cap off a get a pic tomorrow if you need. I'm running 285/70s on mine, t-bar turned up little bit, but with winch/bumper, don't think it did much lol. But only rubs on the filler piece...but didn't rub on stock bumper either. Got looking, is that a 2wd? If so might want to drop a couple sizes or it very well might rub....

Yes sir, it is 2wd. I think you are right, I am thinking I need to go 265/70 and call it a day. I haven't been able to verify if the 4x4 and 2wd had different heights or stance but from what you say, soundso like it does. Yes I'd like a pic of the cap if you can get one. I think the stock caps look better than the new plastic ones. Thank you for all your help.

Re: New Member wondering about H2 wheels...

I'll get a pic tomorrow...not sure just how much, but a 4wd definitely sits higher than a 2wd, regardless of GVWR. Might look into 65 series tires, same height but little wider...

FYI: '73-'91 Suburbans are square bodies. '92-'99 Suburbans are not.
