'70 front hub/drum issues
I am putting new shoes on the front of my C10 but the passenger side drum won't come off of the hub. I pulled the axle nut and took the hub and drum off but I cannot get the two separated. It looks like there are rivets that run through the drum into the hub but that doesn't make sense, any thoughts?

Drill or grind out the rivet...That's the way it left the factory

You can also remove the dust cap and take out the hub/drum as an assembly, do the brakes, and put it back together. No grinding needed unless you are turning or replacing the drum.

Thanks, so I just pulled the axle nut and the whole assembly. I put in the new shoes and spring kits on both sides, I still have no pedal so I have to get to bleeding tomorrow I suppose.

Your problem with no pedal is probably shoe adjustment. Adjust the shoes through the slot until very tight, then back off until slight drag is felt. You will never get a pedal without the shoes adjusted first.

As cheap as the brake parts are, go ahead and replace the wheel cylinders and hoses at the same time if you have never done it.

I just recently replaced all the brake lines and the master cylinder. I am hoping to finally get a good firm pedal so I can drive this thing a little bit.
