Re: once you removed your gas tank behind the seat
Hey 67 short step side
I hope to fix up a 67 1 ton and get (Remove) the gas tank out of the cab. My Question for you is what type of tank did you use and how did you install it ? I think I will go with a tank that is for a 73-80's Blazer. Back to your Question, Once I remove & replace the tank then I will show a picture of my plans. I was thinking of a Tool storage in Oak or ??? sheetmetal. |

Re: once you removed your gas tank behind the seat
LMC makes a tank relocation kit , suburban tank essentially , but your on your own for the fill , had to notch the frame on my c10 with their kit , some year jeep grand cherokee tanks work also , but the fill is an issue again

Re: once you removed your gas tank behind the seat
I don't have any pictures of mine, but it's just a board covered in the same material as my seats and held in place with bolts that thread into the original tank location holes.

Re: once you removed your gas tank behind the seat
I moved may tank to the back by using the tank from a square body blazer. Then i put two enclosed subs behind the seat

Re: once you removed your gas tank behind the seat
I am using tile backing board for the carpeting on the rear cab wall. I considered just gluing the carpet to the back wall but thought a smooth appearance would be better.
When I purchased carpet for the floor I was able to get extra from the manufacturer for a perfect match.

Re: once you removed your gas tank behind the seat
I want to build a sub box, but with it looking like a headboard of a bed,(two legs then the box.) this way the lower center is open, and then mount a cheap alum jack and tools in that space..
I'm also, looking at my sport track rear window,, and think it be nice in this truck.. the center part of the window drops down behind the seat.. |

Re: once you removed your gas tank behind the seat
I was just searching for threads on this the other day. I am getting ready for my new seats and you will be able to see back there now. Do not feel like looking at sound mat. I am trying to figure out how to incorporate my sub box and corner speakers into the mix.

Re: once you removed your gas tank behind the seat
I plan to put sound mat on the wall and fabricate a panel to cover the back wall and paint it body color. I ha e not designed it yet so it will come in later on down the road.
