Re: 221 parts
They think their gears are made out of gold lol. a guy on facebook had his 221 rebuilt at Global transfer case supply. said they replaced some gears $650. I emailed the just to see if the had a complete 221 rebuilt. No but they would look for one for me if i wanted. so no complete units. another person said he called them and they said they have all the parts to rebuild one. I guess you send them yours and they will rebuild it.

Re: 221 parts
20 years ago I would grab any T221 parts I could find for free or near free. I'm sure I had parts from 4 or 5. All had bad idler shafts....... I respect those that are doing stock restorations, but at some point you just gotta up grade to something you can get parts for.

Re: 221 parts
Hey Matt, I'm still kicking here in Sebastopol. I'll be messing with the 63 K10 as soon as my burb is back on the rode. Putting disks on the closed knuckle 44 and 13" breaks from a 14 bolt on the Eaton in the rear.

Re: 221 parts
I'm struggling to find parts for my 221 and while I would love to keep it original, I'm starting to consider a np205 swap since they still make stuff for them and might be cheaper in the long run. Is there anything I should know or be aware of when doing this swap. Does it just drop in place? How much am I going to have to change since they came in the trucks in later years. I have the sm420 gear box and my coupler other than shaft piece is in good condition. You guy seems to be doing everything that I want so any advice would help.

Re: 221 parts
When I got the '64, it had a 465 / 205 out of a '73 in it. The '63 I currently have had a divorced th400 / 221. Ive since swapped to a NV4500 / divorced 205 using the 221 crossmember to support the 205 (dodge). It works well.
Just for ease of install Id be looking for a 465/205 setup that was all together.

Re: 221 parts
Sorry, my point was that when I parted the '64 out, I sold the trans and x case for 250 - 300. Bell, crossmember and x case linkage included. You might try looking for something like that. You can find them cheap once in a while.

Re: 221 parts
I couldn't find a good coupler for mine so I shortened a 205 coupler and found seals that made up the difference in diameter. I haven't had any problems.
