454 dipstick
building a 454 with new pan and dipstick and was trying to find out what holds the dipstick tube in place.

A bolt. That is the short answer but the long one is the dipstick is bolted to the cylinder head and goes into the oil pan hole capturing in place. If you can picture putting in the stick[tube] and then a bolt near the top keeps in firmly down in the oil pan

Sorry for my ignorance but are there two dipstick tubes (upper and lower) with the big block as there are with the 350 small blocks?
