Anyone have a good exploded view of a Qjet divorced choke ?

I need to replace the choke pulloff, I broke it when I rebuilt the carb. I don't think that the linkage is on there properly. I don't get a fast idle and the truck runs way to rich until it warms up.
Does anyone have a really good illustration of the linkage?

My 72 has a divorced choke with a fresh rebuilt Qjet from guaranteed carburetors. I can go by it tomorrow and snap some pics for you if you still need them. Pics of the same area as yours above?

Can I ask, were divorced chokes common on these trucks? I have a 71 402 with a Rochester, which may have had one. I'd like to restore it to original.

There were three types of qjet chokes
1. Divorced
2. Hot Air
3. Electric.

To the best of my knowledge the majority were divorced, hot air started to be used in the mid 70s and electric was phased in the early 80's. I am pretty sure your factory choke would have been divorced.

Unless you are a stickler for originality I would replace the divorce piece with a 12V conversion. The unit mounts to the manifold and connects to the original linkage, easy to go back to original if need be.....

My issue isn't so much the divorced piece on the manifold, it's the linkage itself. I must not have put something back right when I rebuilt it.

Remember when looking at these pics that big blocks and small blocks are reversed (choke pulls down on one, pushes up on the other). But the choke pulloff should be the same.

If you've got the linkage installed correctly, it's then adjusted by bending the rods, but I won't take you there until you're sure you've got it all installed correctly, which I'm going to guess will be the problem.

Good to know. Can you describe how this is wired? Where do you get the conversion?
