Ansen Equipped

I have a question about a sticker that is on my truck that says "Ansen Equipped, Gardena Ca" Is this sticker on the front fender because of the 6-lug wheels that are on the truck?

Re: Ansen Equipped

It does[ I think] have to do with those awesome wheels but all trucks[half ton that is] 1970 and before were 6 lug drum front brakes. In 1971 disc brakes became standard and the 5 lug system came to the forfront

Re: Ansen Equipped

Those aluminum slot mags on your truck are probably vintage Ansen Sprints, one of the original slot mags. I still like them!

Re: Ansen Equipped

WELCOME to the site!!

Yes, most likely the sticker has been on there as long as those wheels. Ansen made other speed equipment, but the wheels where best known. What a time capsule of a fine short bed. '69 CST in turquoise, that you don't see a lot of, that still has an old sticker on the paint. I love getting old windows with old speed, travel, M/C, etc stickers on them. You got a whole truck!

Can you take a picture showing the whole truck?

Re: Ansen Equipped

Those wheels are fairly rare, being as old and original as they are.

I have an old original set of ET "5 window" slots on mine that are straight from the early 60's.

Nice truck!

And you can still get them from American Racing. Either shiny or machined, I think.

But, unfortunately, not made in 6-lug. Not even sure if they offer 15" or 10" wide

Re: Ansen Equipped

Thank you very much for the compliments on my truck. Little back story to the truck....I was going to college in Presque Isle Maine back in 1993 and had a 2 hour drive from my home town to school. I would often take different routes to get there always looking in back yards to see if i could spot a deal. I myself at the time had a 1972 Super Cheyenne..... i loved that truck. My dad was an old Chevy fan and collected a few and was in outside sales for an electrical wholesale company and traveled the state selling to mills and contractors. I spotted this truck one day sitting beside a garage in Linneus Maine. I told my dad about it and one day he stopped by and spoke with the owner. The owner had special ordered it in Texas I believe, and then moved up here to Maine. he told my father he wasn't interested at the time in selling it but he would take his name and number and if he decided to sell it, he would let him know. About 8 or 10 years later my dad got a call and he was ready to sell. My dad passed away in 2010 and now i am the proud owner of this, and a cople other vehicles. The truck is all original, paint interior, you name it. Its never seen the snow. I have it in storage at the time being but will post some more pictures at some point. I do have a couple pictures of the SPID though.

Re: Ansen Equipped

Everything but the tach for the perfect muscle combo of V8 4spd 4.11 posi w/tach (just need to switch in an M21 or M22). I love the stand-out special order trucks. I did the same thing when I ordered a truck. Didn't get posi because I wanted to put my own choice in
