What interior color should I do? 78 Hawaiian/Medium Blue

I have a 1978 GMC with Hawaiian Blue on the SPID. I am having the truck painted and I am going to buy a new dash pad and carpet, as well as redye my door panels. I got a darker blue seat belt set from a mid 80s Chevy and the 60/40 blue bench from a 88+ Chevy which is also the darker blue color.

Do you think this darker blue color would be best throughout the interior? I know it's not original but I feel like the dark seat/belts and the lighter panels/carpet/dash would clash and look off.

Here are some pictures of said colors. By looking at the lighter blue (OE to my truck) belt it clashes a lot.

The tail gate is the only available piece I have at the moment to show the color of my truck, and the door panel has not been dyed so it is the lighter blue.

I have the lighter blue interior in my winter truck, I was going to refresh the interior while I had it out, and I can't find anyone that makes the right color dye to match. I know you can have some custom mixed, but I didn't want to spend the money. Just somthing to keep in mind.

Thanks for letting me know, I'll still have to dye it one way or another so hopefully I'll find something close.

I think the darker blue seatbelts looks better with the seat.Have you looked at SEM vinyl dye:

And then Color Bond:

I think we are planning on using SEM. I agree about the darker belts which is why I masking if I should just go ahead and do the whole interior that shade of blue, which is like a navy shade.

That trucks interior is in awesome shape! I think I'm going to go with the darker blue after looking at your pictures and a few others. I like the medium blue color interior but I think it might be a bit too much of the same color.

Re: What interior color should I do? 78 Hawaiian/Medium Blue

I was researching replacement dashpads and decided the urethane dash would be a good idea.. then I saw that they don't have the darker blue dash for a pre 1980 dash..

So now I have to rethink it. Dark blue seat and belts w/medium blue dashpad?
What about the door panels as I saw that SEM doesn't have a lighter blue? Carpet?

What should I do?

You could always go neutral on the dash and door panels and go with grey.
