scott's weld in ifs need info
The instructions say to mark centerline of old front suspension. and I am starting with a bare frame. Does anybody have a reference point of centerline on their 68 front suspension? Has anybody installed a weld in version? Need info

Re: scott's weld in ifs need info
Kinda vague on the question so I'll ask you some. What's a "Scotts weld in?" You say you have a bare frame, how bare? Got some pics? A bare frame can mean no front cross member or axle...?

Re: scott's weld in ifs need info
no front cross member or rear axle just a couple mid crossmembers. I want to weld in a IFS from Scotts hot rods. and without the front suspension, I need to draw a line from front spindle to other front splindle. I need to know where it crosses the frame

Re: scott's weld in ifs need info
I know the frame drawings are in the 60 to 66 FAQ section that show all the locations and measurements. Not sure if they are in the 67 to 72 section. You could post in the regular truck section and ask if any one has a frame sitting around that can get you measurements. Lot more chances someone will see the request. A better title would be "Need frame measurements" and post the year and length of the frame you need measurements off of.

Re: scott's weld in ifs need info
Going by others measurements might not be the best approach here (where they're pulling measurements from; how they're measuring, etc...).
Besides the frame rails/mid x-members, how much more of a truck do you have? I would drop the cab on the frame & mock the front fenders up to get a visual of where you want things & work from there.

Re: scott's weld in ifs need info
hey low69chevy...did you have to spread the frame, to weld in the Scotts cross member?
I am about ready to box in the frame and weld in the motor mounts,

Re: scott's weld in ifs need info
I'm sure you have a good reason for replacing the well designed GM front suspension but if i were you i would contact Scotts for their reference points since they designed their setup
