Is the GM part number stamped on the door shell?

I'm looking at what a guy claims are original GM doors. I know in the early years GM stamped part numbers on everything, don't know if they stamped them in the doors somewhere?

These are bare shells that have never been used, guy is asking premium prices for them, so I want to make sure they are legitimate.

the difference between GM and the current A/M shells is glaring enough that you would know if they were aftermarket.

I have a brand new never used NOS,81/87 GM tailgate in the box with a GM parts sticker on it.
There are no numbers stamped on it anywhere.
I'd imagine the doors would be the same.

Should have the part number sticker on them on interior side of the door somewhere or at least the residue where it once was.

I have an NOS stepper tailgate & it also has a parts tag on it.

Same here with the sticker. I got a NOS Hood and the sticker was on it.

The stamped area and punched access holes for the vent assembly is a dead giveaway-the aftermarket doors don't always have the 3 holes (some only have 2) and the holes are drilled instead of punched on the aftermarket ones.

Not to change the subject but does anyone know the GM part numbers for the rockers? I have to change the rockers on my '88 Blazer & would like to find GM rockers for it. Thanks

You can "usually" go to any GM online place and select your year, make & model. Search body parts, and even if they list that the parts are no longer available, it will show part numbers for each part.

I haven't inspected doors very close, but 73-80 fenders have "GM" stamped on the backside seam that would be adjacent to the door when installed. You could look for a similar stamp on the doors I guess...but I can't confirm it will actually exist.

One difference I've noticed is in the pinched edge on the latch side nos doors have a filler piece of sheet metal that has rounded corners that gets seam sealed over on repop that piece is not as nice and the corners are not round in ones I've seen
