Looks like, "Cut to fit, bend to suit, paint to match".

Re: new bed step part fustration...
At some point in its life your bed may have been changed from a 60-66 . You ordered the 55-59 bracket. Can you used the bracket shown attached to the bed?

Re: new bed step part fustration...
55 thru 59 brackets are different than 60 thru 66....as are the cross sills because of frame changes and widths.....wrong year bracket or bed?

The existing brackets you show are the style on my 62....my 56 has your new style....you probably have a later bed adapted?

Re: new bed step part fustration...
I guess I'm going to drill a couple holes, I just wanted to check first, this aftermarket parts stuff is frustrating to say the least! The holes in the bed steps are off and needing lots of work to make them straight and fit properly!

Re: new bed step part fustration...
I'm wondering if those originals were from a different truck to begin with. seems as though from your pictures that your originals differ greatly from the new ones you've bought.

Re: new bed step part fustration...
Glad you got it figured out...in your first pic in post you can see that the new and old steps are different..the one where you have one on top of the other

Glad you got it figured out. Do you have the rod that goes from the frame to the step to support it? I haven't seen it in your pics.

Re: new bed step part fustration...
I ordered a new set that I just received, I'm waiting for my garage to warm up as it was 32 degrees in the garage this morning and only 27 right now!
