Re: One of my favorite Chevy Truck ads ...
I like it, too, but the more I see it the less it makes sense. I can't think of any repair that would cost more than the truck is worth. You'd think he had been in an accident the way she walks up and asks if he's alright, then the truck, before the guy even came out with the bad news. I can't imagine sitting outside a shop moping over my truck just because it needs repair, unless I didn't have money to pay, and he did. I think the mechanic was trying to swindle the truck out from under him

Re: One of my favorite Chevy Truck ads ...
I didn't get it at first watch. I think it is because I can't imagine a mechanic saying it is "good news you're getting a new truck" as if he's going to hand him the keys to a new Chevy. That part did not make sense to me at all. And then another thing I could not get, I can't imagine me leaving my truck and writing a check for a guy to "just fix it" who just told me that load of bull. I can see where they were kind of going with the commercial, I just don't think they quite arrived...

Re: One of my favorite Chevy Truck ads ...
I'm naturally analytical about advertising...and I know I am that way in general. I get told I think too much but it sure beats not thinking enough. I get the core message they were trying to convey and I agree that is very cool. The same scenario would be presented much more realistically (at least somewhat real) in a movie or TV show. Like I said, the more I watch it the more I see nothing realistic about it
I know they don't want you to think, just go out and buy a Chevy. It worked. Now I want to buy another 67-72 Chevy Truck!

Re: One of my favorite Chevy Truck ads ...
I have to admit the very first time I saw it I cried a little and needed a hug. See what I mean now about "the more I see it"?
