63 c10, LS swap, motor mount question..HELP

I have a 63 c10, I have switched the complete front suspension ,brakes, engine cradle, from a mid 80s c10, the parts you see in the pics, bolt from the 63 frame down to the mid 80s cradle, then the clam shell mounts to them, and so on, my problem here is that these pieces that are off of the newer c10 are too long now, what is everyone with this set up doing? Any help would be appreciated.

You need the engine mount brackets from a C20 or C30. They are shorter and fit the early frames better. Even then some guys prefer to add about a 1/4" spacer on top of the frame. You will also likely need to trim the top flange of the frame back a little.

I swapped a 87 crossmember in my 66'. I used the my original factory V8 perches attached to dirty dingo sliders when I did my 5.3 swap.

Link with pictures for reference of original perches. http://www.persh.org/pickup/perches.htm

I am sure Mr. fab is very knowing on alot of things including this , but of coarse I am looking for choices , and since these others have shared their ideas I now have that.I am on a budget and hope to use what I have or go the cheapest route, I'm gonna take a look at my original perches and go from there. thanks everyone

so it looks like I have the matching factory perches, for the v8 and 230/350 , you are saying those will connect straight to the dingo mounts? nothing in between?

Re: 63 c10, LS swap, motor mount question..HELP

dingo mounts???????

As for the clam brackets as Capt. said the c20 brackets fit better ...also there is a post some where here but i have yet to find it again where the guy cut / shortened (at the top) and welded them back together to fit and others have used spacers on top of the frame and under the bracket

This is what I used. http://www.dirtydingo.com/shop/index.php?cPath=359_360

I have a pair of C20 mounts like captain is describing somewhere around here. That's what I was going to use but went with the stock perches and dirty dingo mounts instead. If you're interested in going that route I will see if I can find them.

Re: 63 c10, LS swap, motor mount question..HELP

Everything went real good on my swap. I do not have A/C. I thought I remember reading you have to get an A/C compressor relocating bracket to run it our trucks. I used Trailblazer SS exhaust manifold in my swap.
