More Carb Issues

My 71 K20 is my first venture into dealing with a carb. I think I have a basic understanding of how it works. I was having an issue with the choke opening too soon in the cold, but I think I have that fixed. While messing with the choke I noticed the truck idled better when I manually closed the choke to about 1/8'" open. That led me to believe I was running too lean. My problem now is I'm having a hard time trying to set a good idle by adjusting the mixture screws. The screw on the right (facing the carb) does nothing all the way in or several turns out. The left side makes the engine bog and die around 1-1 1/2 turns out and idle picks up about 3 turns and there seems to be no change past that. I've read a vacuum leak could cause that, but I've got a pretty aggressive cam which, to my understanding, causes lower vacuum too. What do I do from here? out

Re: More Carb Issues

Likely you need more timing so you can close the throttle more to cover the transition slot.
Some info here. It's about a holley but your eddy is the same.

What's your initial timing?
