68 K10 front axle swap (from 77)
I found a Dana 44 front end with the same gear ratio locally. Seller tells me it's a 6 lug axle too. Other than the brake master and crossover steering parts, are there any other things I need to consider? I'm not really sure how the front axles differ through the years.

Nevermind. It turns out it was stolen from the seller before I could buy it.
I'm still open to any advice on what a good front axle to be looking for might be. |

I believe the axle should bolt right in,And i think the brake line fitting is different on the caliper end but thats it.

Okay. Seems like it should be pretty straight forward. I was planning on getting a booster/master cylinder/proportioning valve from a later model as well. The steering is the part that makes me nervous. I really kind of like not having anything hanging on the engine, so I'd like to retain the manual steering if I can. Not sure how well the current gear box will work with a newer axle though.
