WTB 72 Big Block Smog Setup

Restoring a 72 GMC sierra grande original 402 truck loaded up with options. Looking for a complete smog setup for a big block. Mine was take off and tossed years ago. Will consider any correct parts or pieces too. Thanks!

Re: WTB 72 Big Block Smog Setup

Glad to see you are restoring it original. All 1/2 ton big block trucks came with smog in '72.

I might have set of manifolds but I can't check till Saturday morning. I'll post back then unless you find a set before then.

Re: WTB 72 Big Block Smog Setup

I'm not certain if any of the smog stuff came on 71's. When researching it the gm parts books it show most parts of the system the same for for 1969-70 C models with 396/400, and then 1972 C10-15 w/ 400 and 72 C20-25 Suburban w/400. It never references 71 models so I don't know if those got smog or not. Mine is a 72 GMC 402 half ton which did have it. They took it all off and put plugs in the exhaust manifolds. Here are some pics I found that show a big block smog system still intact.

I just picked up a 1972 gmc with a 402 with the complete smog setup. Trying to figure a fair price. Do you want everything including the manifolds with smog tubes?
