Re: Vin number questions
Are you questioning whether or not it's a factory short bed? What is the wheel base listed on the SPID on the inside of the glove box door?

Re: Vin number questions
i know it's a short wheel base truck, im questioning whether or not it came with a bed on it, or came with a flat bed or empty frame. I'm also wondering if this will hurt the resale value of the truck?

Re: Vin number questions
My understanding is that “cab and chassis” meant that it was a cab and frame with no flat bed or pickup bed or anything else. Like an empty canvas ready to paint. The buyer could then add whatever they wanted. At some point (maybe even in the new showroom), someone added a pickup bed to yours which shouldn’t affect the resale value. However, without the SPID there’s no way to know if it was an original short or long frame unless you can find some cuts or welds on it. So your value may or may not be determined by that info.
