2000 2.2 electrical gremlins
2000 s10 2.2 5sp high beam indicator is on all the time, no power to starter or fuel pump. Break lights on all the time. No headlights when ignition is on but they work when key is off. Scan tool showed communication with ecm and bcm, no codes. Replaced ignition switch, multifunction switch, cleaned grounds. Any ideas post them up. At this point willing to try anything. This is keeping me from working on my 69 c10!

Re: 2000 2.2 electrical gremlins
A long while back I had an S10 come in with an issue like this. From what I remember there was a ground wire corroded and broken on the engine block, I think it was right above the oil filter. It was like a 14 gauge wire I think. Follow the main battery ground down to the engine, I think it was either with it or very close to it.

Re: 2000 2.2 electrical gremlins
Did a little research. Looking at the schematic, all these systems will be affected by ground G102, and I was right, it's located right above the oil filter. Looks like there's 2 ground on one bolt. I'd check it out thoroughly. Take the bolt out (maybe it's loose somehow), pull on the ground wires there. It might look ok, but the wire insulation could have a cut in it and let moisture in, causing the copper wire to rot away inside it.
If the problem isn't right at the ground location then I'd follow it's wires back into the harness and wherever it goes. I'm pretty confident your problem has to do with that ground. The starter relay, fuel pump relay, DRL ground, and CHMSL relay are all grounded off this same ground. |

You are dead on. Nut was loose on ground above oil filter. This is a remained motor installed about 4 months ago. Not impressed by the installer. Found several nuts bolts loose.
