Proper carpet for replacement?
Which carpet is the proper pile for a replacement carpet? Is it 80% rayon/20% nylon?
Does anyone have a particular favorite? How well do the dyed replacements hold up? Mine will be dark olive Lastly, how difficult is a new carpet to put in? |

Re: Proper carpet for replacement?
80/20 loop is correct if you want original. I bought ACC carpet through Rock Auto (best price). For a decent price and a broader choice of colors (including color samples upon request), go to www.stockinteriors.com. I elected to get the "mass backing" for better sound and heat damping. It also comes with jute padding and is available in an extended version for trucks with the gas tank removed. I am very satisfied with my selection.
It's fairly easy to install. It helps to lay it out for a while to allow the folds to relax, preferably in a warm environment and sun if possible. Biggest challenge is probably locating where the holes go and then "creating" them. Jim Last edited by FirstOwner69; 01-11-2017 at 12:23 AM. |

Re: Proper carpet for replacement?
Thanks. I thought I had read that before.
Does the heel pad come in the right color to match the carpet or is it just black? |
