Right Stuff pre-bent th350 transmission vacuum line help

Hello all

I'm trying to figure out the correct routing for this Pre-bent transmission vacuum line and every way I try doesn't seem correct. I've triple checked to verify its the correct one for my application and I know I need to add a small rubber piece at the engine but the bending just doesn't line up from the modulator to the engine that I can find.

Shouldn't the line hook up at the modulator and run nice and tight up to the engine where I would then hook up a small piece of hose between the hard line and intake?

If anyone has used these pre-bend lines and has a picture how it goes I would appreciate it.

Re: Right Stuff pre-bent th350 transmission vacuum line help

I put a new one of those on a friends truck I built last year, it didn't come close to fitting at all. I ended up having to bend it up to make it fit.

Re: Right Stuff pre-bent th350 transmission vacuum line help

I have never had any pre bent line of any sort come even close to fitting. Fuel lines, brake lines, transmission cooler lines, doesn't matter, they all need to be tweaked or bent again.

Re: Right Stuff pre-bent th350 transmission vacuum line help

Thanks guys, I had good luck with my pre-bent brake lines and didn't have to do hardly any reworking to them. Any tricks on bending stainless steel by hand without messing it up? from the looks of it I will need to do some serous reconfiguration of that line.

There is no nice way of putting it. If that is the right part number for your trans then they totally blew it. I wouldn't stand for it. You paid good money for it and deserve it to fit as designed, not to have to reengineer it too.

Re: Right Stuff pre-bent th350 transmission vacuum line help

Agree with Boog. That's a bummer with such a nice build you have there. The end of your new tube with the tag on it looks like it has the right bend for the vac mod. The stock one on mine has the same bend and a short piece of vac tubing. The tubing & mod darn near plug into each other. Wish I had more help for you.

That line looks like it is for a th400 not a th350..
the th400 the modulator valve comes out the side not the back ..

Re: Right Stuff pre-bent th350 transmission vacuum line help

After going back out to the garage last night and messing with it for a few minutes I came to the same conclusion as Boog and packed it back up. I will send it back and try and go with a different company and see if I have better luck or I might just call them up today and see what they have to say about it.

Thanks for the help and comments...

Here's a shot of how mine was routed before I took it apart.
