my longhorn got stolen this morning,,

OK, you all should get a good laugh out of my stupidity ... this morning, IM in bed and I hear the sound of my trucks starter turn over. Sense I am very paranoid about someone stealing my truck, this wakes me up. I go down stairs to see if it was indeed my truck. it was, and now its backing out of the drive way!

So first I grab the phone can call -911, thinking how the hell did they get that started. Even if they know what security was on there it would take several tries. anyway, IM telling the 911 lady my truck was just stolen, all the wile running around, putting on cloths, grabbing my gun and cell phone.

IM ready to leave, but the 911 lady wants my life's story, so I tell here ill call her on my cell... she resists ofcourse (whats up with these people?) so out the door I go.

What way to go? Um I almost turned left, but I saw the end of the truck just down the road to the right!! what luck! So I race up to the truck..still talking to the 911 lady. I think, wow, this person is driving like an old man for just stealing a truck. I hope they dont run when the police get here..

The truck stops at a light and im thinking, should I get out and pull the gun? hum.. no, ill wait for the police, they are caught. Then i notice its a WOMAN driving.. for about 5 seconds i think dam, a woman? Wow..... then it hits me... are you ready???

Its my girlfriend... now it all comes back to me, her car was backed into last week. its in the shop. she is using my truck to go to work. i would love to have the recording of the 911 tape when i said.. um..oh ya, thats my girlfriend, i forgot she was going to use my truck.... um er.. never mind! sorry!

hahahahaha! i do pull up next to her and honk the horn. im laughing my ass off at this time. she gives me a puzzled look. so i call her on the cell and tell her what happend..now she can make fun of me for years!

Im so glad i picked the right road. The cops would have found her for sure. i would have felt bad if they had done a felony stop on her. then have me show up and say.. um er. never mind.

So, I guess I have a great "so there I was" story. Feel free to flame me, I thought you all would get a laugh.

Don’t worry your not the only one to have done this, I worked as a 911 dispatcher for a few years and it happens several times a year. But the one that happens the most is people exiting the mall from a different door and can’t find the car, the police would have one of the units start checking the lot and 98% of the time find it setting right were they left it.
