55 chev door alignment

Hey guys, just bought some new repo doors for my 55 2nd series, was looking for some hints on installing them. Have installed doors before, was just looking for some tricks or hints on aligning them. Truck's not painted yet, just want to test fit them.

Alignment is made much easier is you fab some door holders . get some wood and throw a little holder together for a door to fit in at the height you need. sit the holder on top of your floor jack. this helps with the up and down, also left to right alignment.

basically the holder is a base with some uprights to hold the door as needed. you can nail on some extenders on those upright to push the door inward or outward.

hope this helps. good luck, wish i had new doors!!!!!

Thanks for the suggestions Shamrock. These doors are almost half the weight of the original ones, making it easier to hold them up. I have the pass side on, door is tight to the body, but the window frame is sticking out slightly near the windshield post. My driver door seems to want to sit high, even with the bolts all the way down in the alignment holes ( yes I have new hinges too). I will file out the alignment slots on the hinges for a little more downward movement, hope that will be enough. Again thanks for the help.
