Hood hinge bolts

I'm getting ready to install new, powdercoated hood hinges. The existing bolts are all the same it appears. Can somebody tell me the exact description of these 9/16" hex bolt screws in order to order the right stainless version to replace these? Hate to go back in with the old bolts. Thank you.

Re: Hood hinge bolts

Just a suggestion. Clean the originals up on a grinding wheel, ( vice grips hold em good while cleaning ) then prime and paint them whatever color you had the hinges powder coated. My hinges aren't powder coated but are painted and that is what I did with my bolts.

Re: Hood hinge bolts

Thanks, guys. I just wasn't sure what to order if I went stainless. One thread listed them as 3/8 - 16 and another 3/8 - 24 thread. I think I will try the paint idea. My restored ones are silver/chrome coating with the springs gloss black.

Most every hardware store has a gauge to screw your bolt into to find the right one. once you know what size it is just buy the S/S bolts.
Lowes and HD will have them mounted on the rack close to the hardware section.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Hood hinge bolts

If I understand the question, the original bolts used on the hinge are 9/16" head tapered screws (i.e. bolts) with integrated washers. The screw threads are 3/8" x 7/8" & 16 TC.
