Dash Pads
Anyone used Summit Racing's dash pad? That seems to be the cheapest I've found. It's either that or find a decent used one and put a cover on it. I can't see spending over $320 for one, can't afford that.

Re: Dash Pads
Thanks, I should have said the urethane was the 1 I was looking at, $227. I can't find a used one around here that I could put a cover on. They are a $100 for them.

Re: Dash Pads
We have a vendor on here now who reproduces them-better than anybody else from reviews I've read too on other forums. cheyennepickup is his ID-I plan on trying one of his 81-up Dashpad's....prices are about $339 if I recall.

Re: Dash Pads
I believe the only difference is, is that on the 80's, there the cutout for the vin plate on the left side by the windshield. The later models, there is no cutout. Just not sure when it started.
I hope I'm right on this info. Maybe someone else will chime in, if this isn't right.

Re: Dash Pads
For some reason I was thinking they were different around where the cluster cover goes. I may be wrong, happens alot here lately.

Re: Dash Pads
I got a dashes direct dash pad for my '85 from LMC other than some minor trimming, it has held up well and looks very factory. I painted it with Colorbond to match my interior. You can see it in my thread located in projects and builds the 73-80 cab and the 81-87 cab are identical. If it were not for the different instrument clusters, you could use interchange dashes with no modification. If you are changeing your instrument cluster and dash, it should be a bolt on application.

Re: Dash Pads
My 82 has a cracked, cheesy aftermarket plastic cover, and I have been trying to determine which way to go. Found these comments about the OER urethane pad sold by Summit:
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/o...31898/reviews/ Comments range from "fit like OEM" to "terrible fit". So what' a guy to think??? BTW, how do the vinyl and urethane pads differ?
