Not sure about a 63 model, but I converted a 66 C10 to power steering using a 69 box and a kit like this:

I used a new Ididit steering column, so I'm not sure what you'd need to use the stock column.

Are you following the links posted? Where are you seeing that the power steering conversion links are only '67 and up? Please point out the designation, because the two links I posted detail the components used for the C10 up to 1966...the CPP link takes you to an article that specifically notes the power steering conversion for 60-66 trucks.

I don't think they put power steering boxes on before 67 and that is why you need the later parts.

I just put PS in my 1965 C10 but I have not hooked it all up yet. It's 90% done. You can see what I did on my BLOG. Scroll down until you get to the 8/30/16 entry on the main page. LINK HERE.

I bought a good condition 1974 C10 PS gear box and CaptainFab adapter plate.
I used a DD lower sleeve and rag joint from the 1974 PS box but you can buy them new from Summit Racing.
I then joined the DD lower rod to my original 1965 steering column rod using a DD universal joint I bought on eBay. My original 1965 steering rod was round so I had a machine show mill the end to the DD shape and had holes drilled in the upper and lower rod ends for the universal joint screw to capture the rods.

I also decided to shorten the column so it would be closer to the dash, but that part was just something I did for my comfort and made sense since I have a floor shifter.

Sure, if you have enough space to the inside of the frame, and your engineering and fabrication skills will allow for it. I say go for it and keep us posted on the set up with some photos.

I would rather see how you use a 1998 Suburban steering box. I encourage you to go that route, since apparently all of the information provided in this thread does not fit your bill or suit your needs.

I just did a the swap today. It took me about 2 hours to install. I used a steering box, pitman arm, and pressure hose from a 1985 C30 truck. I used captinfabs bracket kit to attach the box to the frame, its an easy install. use the template to mark holes, drill them and I chose to weld the bracket to the frame to make installing the heavy box easier. To connect the box to the steering column I used the steering shaft from the same donor c30. I cut it where the round part transitions to the D shaped part and slipped that over my stock shaft and welded them together. As for a pump, I originally intended to use the 1985 c30 pump and it would have worked but the low driver side pump brackets for my SBC required a threaded boss that the 85 pump didnt have. So I picked up a pump for a 1970 camaro and used that. its worth mentioning that the 1985 pump and box use 16mm Oring style fittings while the 1970 pump uses 5/8 inverted flare. To fix this mismatch you simply swap the pressure fittings between the pumps. the metric fitting will screw into the standard pump and you now have a metric pump. This is something I don't see a lot of people mentioning on here.

I'm not antagonizing you. Many of us, including me, tried to help by posting specific 60-66 links and/or photos of actual power steering conversions. "Apparently," none of the power steering conversion links and information that was posted earlier was to your liking (you accused us that we were only posting 67 and up info), so I would really like to see how you do a '98 Suburban steering box conversion from an engineering and fabrication perspective...I don't think anyone has done that on our trucks, at least none that I've seen photo documented.
