Ontario Trucks

Good trucks are getting harder to find up here with all the salt they use on our roads.Would like see and maybe meet in future some local truck owners.Mine was built here in Oshawa, pretty much stock with 350 motor and trans.

Re: Ontario Trucks

I am just across the pond from you. I have been looking on the forums. For other people in my area. Was hoping after the winter. I Could connect with some other C10 members and the owners. Around this area. I used to camp at Cedar point State Park. On the St. Lawrence River. Had a lot of fun camping with our neighbors across the pond. Great people.

Re: Ontario Trucks

That is real nice looking GMC you have. Color combo is spot on for that truck.

Re: Ontario Trucks

Nice truck...and from my old stomping grounds, Ontario!
As far as the trucks go...yep...you will be hard pressed to still find an original, driving 'Ontario' truck around.
When I went looking for mine (when I lived there)....I went with a U.S/Texas (rust free) truck.
That was the only way I was going to get what I was after.
It is certainly worth the extra effort in lieu of paying thousands to hopefully remove rust and rebuild a body...at least in my opinion.

Re: Ontario Trucks

Glad to see there are some fellow Canadians here. Thanks for the comments on the truck. I am in the town of Mount Albert its 45 minutes north of Toronto.Iwas lucky to find this Gmc about 5 years ago.It was the way I wanted and that was to get in and drive , LOL.Since then I put a new oak floor in the box and carpet in the cab.Its been very reliable to get me to a lot of cruise nights and weekend shows. It was also a picture perfect truck in the old autos news paper.

Re: Ontario Trucks

You are in a good location if you want parts or need some good classic truck advice.
'Bill's Truck Shop'...in Courtice (Oshawa) is just south of you.
Bill is a very knowledgeable guy and has been working on and selling parts for these for many years.....well worth the visit.
all Good

Re: Ontario Trucks

You're about 3.5 hrs from me. Do you have a A&W nearby? Many of them have cruise nights. Ours is every Thursday during the summer.

Re: Ontario Trucks

I'm sure you have lots of car shows in your area. Do you ever go to the cruise night at Haugen's BBQ in Port Perry?

We have several good car shows down here but the one you should really consider is Bothwell. Over 1200 cars attend and the 50/50 last year was $30,000 each way. It a huge show for a sleepy little town of 900 people.

Re: Ontario Trucks

I'm in Mount Hope Ontario, also about 45 mins from Toronto but the opposite way. I had imported this truck from California roughly 10 years ago after giving up hope of finding a clean Canadian version. After driving it for 3 years I tore it down and rebuilt her.

I had a bad experience at bills, now I prefer to buy from antique chevrolet
