Steering. What do I need?

there are many steering columns with steering wheel gear to choose from online. I have replaced my manual control box to a power steering. I need one that's fit for my 350 standard automatic. Need help to chose the right.
In Sweden it cost a fortune, so I really need to know that I bye the right one.

Not exactly sure of what you are asking?

You said you already replaced the manual box with a power one. So what is it you need then?

The hoses and pump?
Rag joint?

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Steering. What do I need?

I can't use the original steering.
The manual had a floor shifter and I want a column shifter

Re: Steering. What do I need?

...so, it sounds that an automatic steering column is what you are after?....correct?
What year is your truck? What type of steering wheel?
There are lots of them out there....have you looked/searched for an 'automatic column' for a 1969 to 1972?...they show up here on the for sale board all the time....maybe $100?
Regardless, these should all fit...and there were hundreds of thousands of these trucks made so they shouldn't be too hard to find.

Re: Steering. What do I need?

plus there are other columns from GM car and truck models that could easily be adapted.

Re: Steering. What do I need?

A lot of steering wheels will fit the column and spline....its just that often they won't work well with the push button centre horn system....if that is important to you.
So, basically you should do a search for a 1967 to 1972 Automatic column...or post up on the forum that you are looking for one...and see if any of the forum members can help you out.
They are not that expensive and they are not too hard to find (lots of them out there), but the bigger cost will probably be in the shipping.

Re: Steering. What do I need?

....if you get a chance, try to get a 'tilt column' for these trucks.
Once you've used one of those....its hard to go back to the non-tilt (auto) column.
Its the best and most used option I think I have in my truck...lol
Regardless...post up a 'automatic steering column wanted' ad in the forum and you should get some good responses to get you underway.
All good

Re: Steering. What do I need?

The column you have can be changed out to a auto. The best bet is contact Kev classic are 70shortfleet on here they both do tilt columns and are very nice guy's to work with.
I have a tilt auto I just got but it's for a van so it needs some thing modified on it to work in a truck. But I plan is to use it in a 4 speed truck. If you would be interested in it maybe work something out. You have to crush the steering arm in your truck now to make it work.
It needs a new turn signal to get the e flashers working again.
It's all there just needs moding and cleaned up. I plan to have 70shortfleet do it when I get my tax money back. I hope!
