Body swap
I'm wanting to put a 1995 GMC Sierra body on a 1986 Chevy frame. Both are short bed 4x4. Has anyone on here done it before? Just wanting to know what to expect.

Re: Body swap
Why? Not to be a smart ass or anything. Just curious.
What is the end result you're looking to get? Are you looking to get a SAS? Is the later frame messed up?

Re: Body swap
The big problems are they both are different wheel bases nothing is going to bolt up at all.You will have to make your own body mounts and a ton of other things. If you want a solid front axle in a 95 there are a lot easier and cheaper ways to do that.Take a look at http://offroaddesign.com/catalog/88-...Conversion.htm and https://www.offroadunlimited.com/oru...p?idCategory=3

Re: Body swap
as said frame ear's for body mounts WAY off = full custom fab .
if your 95 frame is good and just want 4x4 do a solid axle swap . faster to do that in the end . www.offroaddesign.com as linked above . http://offroaddesign.com/catalog/88-...Conversion.htm off road unlimited kit I have had my hands on there kit its kind of thin chincy and some have said not super beefy for real off road . www.diy4x.com kirt has one also . http://diy4x.com/product.php?product...cat=250&page=2 both offroad design and diy4x are SUPER beefy stuff . I have got TONS of stuff from both these places over the years . and for more general stuff http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/

Re: Body swap
The body is shot on the 86 and the frame is shot on the 95.

https://southbend.craigslist.org/cto/5988387019.html if so something don't look right for a 73-87 style frame . and 88-up went boxed front half and ifs . also 87 was last of shortbox in solid axle. I don't think he knows exactly what he has .
