Emergency Brake Switch

Gents,

I have a 72 K10 and I am using the Dakota Digital VHX system. It has an input for the emergency brake being set. I am wondering if our trucks came with that option or if anyone has installed one. I found a couple of threads but they were on later model year trucks.

I certainly can fab a bracket and purchase a micro-switch, but was wondering if a switch was factory made for the 72.

Re: Emergency Brake Switch

There wasn't a switch on the 67-72 trucks. The brake light was a pressure failure warning.

Re: Emergency Brake Switch

OK, that makes sense. Got that wired up already to a term block. I also went and re-read chapter 5 in my service manual. LOL, don't know what it is about me and reading the freaking instructions first!!

Thanks Blu,,

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Emergency Brake Switch

I used a switch from a 70 camaro Drilled 2 holes to mount switch on a 70 blazer and hook up wire. Very easy to do
