Crate Engine options for 1966 c20

Hi, I have a 1966 chevy c20. Removed the tired old 283 and am looking at crate engines. Originally I was interested in the goodwrench 195 hp version, but after more research i stumbled upon the L31 crate engine. For about $500 more i think a roller cam and better heads is a better deal than the 195hp setup. Now for questions;
Will my SM420 bolt up to the L31 as far as bell housing bolts?
Will I need a different flywheel? Clutch?
Does the L31 have a tapped hole for the clutch linkage/z-bar pivot ball?

Besides that I know I would need a different intake, melonized distributor gear, and an electric fuel pump. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes, the bell housing is the same.

You will need a new flywheel as you need one for a one piece rear main seal. Clutch will depend on what flywheel you get and if it will have the same pattern.

Not sure on the clutch linkage bolt hole.

I don't know about the crate L31 but the regular production L31's do have the bellcrank stud boss drilled and tapped. At least all the ones I have do.

I would definitely go with the L31 crate engine if it is within your budget.

You are going to need an intake for the vortec heads, the correct distributor gear for the roller cam, a plug for the hole in the timing cover from the crank sensor and an electric fuel pump. I have one in my 66 with a mild cam and it really does run well. We swapped the cam to one that was more of a carb grind.
