Did GMC have any special editions?

I like all the special editions that Chevy had , Sport, Beau James, Big 10 and such. Did GMC do any other than the Amarillo?

Re: Did GMC have any special editions?

Gentleman Jim (the more famous brother of the Beau James) comes to mind.

When you talk about trucks that GMC advertised as "special editions" then you are talking about the Gentleman Jim, the Beau James and the Indy Hauler trucks.

The Amarillo was not factory GM. The Foxy Sierra was not factory GM.

The GMC Street Coupes were factory options, but not marketed specifically as "special edition" trucks.

The GMC Heavy Half was initially an option to raise the GVW of 1/2 ton trucks above the threshold requiring catalytic converters. An option, not an edition.

The GMC Royal Sierra was also badged but was a group of option grouped together for marketing.

The GMC Jimmy Casa Grande was a special model Jimmy with the Chalet built camper sold by GM dealers.

The Desert Fox was a lot like the Amarillo but trucks were upfit by Hickey and sold through GM dealers.

The link to Jeffs site above (http://www.73-87.com/Special_Edition...l_Editions.htm) has most of what's out there and lots of good info.
