New member from Indiana

Hello to all. I actually registered about 16 months ago but I have never posted anything. I am restoring a 1971 K1500 GMC short bed. I've spent the last 2 years tearing the truck down and didn't need much help or advice. I recently retired and my project is picking up pace. I'm pretty sure I will now have some questions and need some extra knowledge. See you in the forums.

Nice truck! I grew up in Lizton, not far down the road from you. Don't get that way much, but have buddy that still lives in B-burg. Hope to see some more pictures of your truck.

Re: New member from Indiana

The truck lived it's life in New Mexico, Arizona and was in Idaho when I purchased it. I took a gamble and was high bidder on Ebay. Fortunately the truck was the way the owner described it and the pictures had shown it. It is basically rust free and original except for the suspension lift the last owner had put on it. It's not a high optioned truck but had the 4 most important options to me: power brakes and steering, auto trans and AC. My plan is to restore it back to stock condition.

Sounds like you have a real solid truck. I like your plan to restore it to stock condition. You've found the right place to have your questions answered- a lot of knowledgable people on here

Found your threads via the "Post Your Driveway Thread." Nice truck! Cool that your doing it up in the original style. Any more pics or possibly a build thread? I couldn't find one.

Hello tim71, Welcome from another Hoosier. Mine is a 56, somewhat modified, and runs good now. I've been thru Brownsburg many times, someday will have to meet up. Again, Welcome and nice truck.
