LS1 cam into SBC 4 bolt main?
Im new to forums here. So please be mean as possible to straighten me out. Its for the best.
Im looking to put a stock ls1 camshaft into a factory 76 sbc 350. Wanting to know if anyone here has done it. A notice increase in power. What is needed to complete the task, most importantly, beside the cam.

Re: LS1 cam into SBC 4 bolt main?
Your supposed to swap the whole LS into your vehicle not just the cam your buddy has laying around!
Put simply, its not going to work. The firing order is different between sbc and LS. So you'd need a custom made sbc crankshaft with the LS firing order. You'd also need roller lifters, any roller lifters for sbc are fine. And we have t even gotten into it the LS cam will even fit in the block without custom cam bearings or if the lobes will line up with the lifter bores in the block. |

No problem. Was wondering if this was a joke because you said to be mean. We aren't allowed to mean, which is fine since we aren't. Welcome to the board.

Yes, welcome aboard.
In addition to Overdriven post, if the cam would physically fit the SBC, the LS cam has no drive gear for the distributor nor fuel pump eccentric.....so a crank trigger ignition and electric pump would be necessary. |
