Trouble brewin' - good thing my 'burb has a tight turn radius!!

Are all Judges complete pricks?

Anyway, in this picture, I'm parked in the county Superior Court's Judges assigned parking spot (long story short, I believe it is illegal to privatize public property, that's why I'm there). The reason I'm showing you this picture is to show you how tight my 'burb can turn!

Look closely, you can see how close I am to the judge's car (he tried to block me in), and if you look really close, you can see about 12" in front of my passenger headlight the sign that says, "Presiding Judge Only" (you can only see the top edge of the sign). I had about a foot to work with, and I did about a 8 point turn and drove out of there! It was great because it then looked like the judge couldn't park... The picture was taken at about point 6 of my turn...

I parked there again today, but left about 3 feet of room this time (it's good to learn from your mistakes), but the judge is taking a week off.

Ok, no political discussion on this... it's the wrong forum for that, I just wanted to impress you with my turning capability!

I think this is one fight you can't win no matter how tight your radius is.

Did you stop in the middle of trying to get out of there to run upstairs and take the picture?

No, the people in the upstairs office took it. I guess that everyone in that office had to come watch me get out of it! I went in to that office today to fix some computers and I saw my picture on the wall, so I made them cough up the file! I wish they had taken several so I could have a step-by-step of getting out.

The centerline of my hood was lined up directly with the sign. I still can't believe I made it out! I'll bet the judge went out after that to give me a butt-chewing, and I'd love to see the look on his face when he saw the 'burb was gone!

How did you avoid the temptation to just put it in reverse and floor it . You have more self control than I would have had.

My question is what makes him think he can park illegally just to block you in. Maybe he should have gotten a ticket. What a self centered ahole. Why could'nt he just part somewhere else.

Bill72BB, I had to restrain myself... I was concerned with bending the sheetmetal on the back of the 'burb. It's not easy finding 'burb metal!

Hotrodhenryj, I seriously considered calling the city police, but when I thought of the cop that would show up, then say, "Um, that's the judge's car, I can't give him a ticket, call the sheriff since it's county property." Then I imagined how the sheriff would react... "Yeah, right, you want me to ticket the judge? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

At least he's not as big of jerk as the old judge (who just got disbarred ). When I parked in his spot (which happens to be the same spot), he would hit the freakin' ceiling!!! Well, at least he never tried to block me in!

Wow, I completely can't believe it...

I ran into the judge today, (no, not in a sheetmetal bending way, I saw him).

He apologized for blocking me in. I didn't know what to say!

Maybe he was just having a bad day when I parked there...

I parked in my old first seargent's parking spot once, and when i got blocked in, I called the MPs and a tow truck. The guy wasn't able to do anything to me...and he knew it.
The sign was gone the next morning too.

Technically on a military base the only 'assigned parking spots' are for the disabled and the commanding general. I am always getting yelled at for parking in the Staff NCO's parking, but they can't do anything since it is illegal to label parking spots. All they can do is assign parking on a number basis, which they won't do.

I went though the same ordeal. The First Sergeant and Commanders spost are just that spots. The last Top we had before I got our and joined the National Guard was a real jack a$$. He would block people in even on the weekends when he would come in. Well he had a step side and his rear lights kept getting cut. I didn't do it but I laughed, I really loathed that guy.

As an E-3 I had parked near one of our hangers to work on a plane. When I came out to my car, a captain had blocked me in claiming it was HIS resesrved parking spot. I told him that there was no Reserved Parking sign there so I didn't know it was "reserved". He really made mad over it. Anyway, not long after this, his wife was arrested in downtown St. Louis for Prostitution!! LOL I had my day with that one. 3 months later he got orders to another base.
There is justice sometimes.
