lights
anyone know or what they called the lights that hung down off mirrors on old trucks looked kind of like icicle hanging down or where you can buy them?

are you talking about semaphores?
like these, mounted behind the cab and they swing out when activated the only place I have ever seen them for sale is in the priceless aisle at the unobtanium store sorry, thats my poor attempt at humor. I see them for sale very rarely on ebay and they are always priced well out of my realm of affordability. enough that I hope I trip across a farm truck with a set.

it could be but i thought they where hanging down off the end of the mirrors kind of like a clearance light

you could hang them anywhere, I have only seen them on the back of the cab but really its a light for grain other wide bed trucks to have a way to indicate a left turn to people who would try to pass the loaded and slow moving truck, especially during harvest when the load would obstruct hand signals and working in the dark would make it even harder to see. they click the switch and the semaphores light up and swing out.
