My "new" 64 GMC

Brought home a "new" truck today, a 64 gmc. It's a little rough, a little crusty, and really cool. I recently messed around and priced my 66 to guy and you know how that goes. It runs kinda, stops, and goes. It's got a later inline 6 and it still 3 speed on the column. But it's a neat little truck and I'm looking forward to getting it running better and do some cleaning up and some altitude adjusting.

I saw that as well. Looking closer this truck reminds me a lot of crustine, only a stepside.

Re: My "new" 64 GMC

I thought the 64-66 GMCs were the same? I have a 66 GMC as well and it does have the same grill but I thought they were supposed to? Interesting

Re: My "new" 64 GMC

Raised edge red letters were '66 only. '60-'65 were flat and white to match the grill/bumper or chrome to match the same.

Sweet truck!

Re: My "new" 64 GMC

I never knew, that explains why it looks just like the grill in my 66 parts truck, LOL. Thanks for the compliments I'm looking forward to sorting a few things and rolling it around.

Re: My "new" 64 GMC(66 GMC)

Well after decoding the vin it is a 66, I thought it was as well when I first looked at the truck due to it having back up lights but with it being a GMC I wasn't sure. Kudos to those of you who called it. So got the old sheet of steel out of bed, removed the old rotten wood, and adjusted the ride height. Ordered new strips for the bed and tank.
