Have you searched eBay? I just picked up an OE chrome lid for my 396 air cleaner and I saw a few open element units.

Never thought about a chrome lid for the stock air cleaner, corvette lids are the same...
I actually did buy most of an open element off eBay right after I posted this

Still looking for another one or parts like the lid
