Is there a whole aluminum replacment for the plastic dash bezel if so where.

ive seen ones that have aluminum covers that sorta stick over the existing bezel and i believe there was some kind of fake brushed aluminum one my buddy had on a 78 blazer he had hope that helps

I bought one from Cheyenne Pickup parts and installed it a couple of months ago. Not perfect, but good enough. You just pull off the factory brushed aluminum piece-- it's just held on with adhesive backing. The new one just installs in it's place. It's got 3M sticky-back on it...

These "decals" go for about $35 in most of the major catalogs.

Are we talking about the whole dash bezel or just a cover that goes over the existing dash bezel?

There are various vendors that sell billet aluminium covers in brushed or polished finishes, but I have never seen an entire dash bezel made from aluminium that has been stamped out like like the injected molded plastic OEM ones. An aluminium one would have to be NC milled and would be real spendy. It would be possible the die press one from sheet metal, but the investment in such a die would also make it expensive. LMC, ChevyDuty, etc. sells the covers for just over a $100. It's the way to go.

Ya thasts what im looking for. what happend was i put my cd player in after fixing some things behind the cover and it craked and busted a pieace of the side. so now i need to replace it but i didnt want to use all the plastic.

Where did the piece break off? Those overlays don't cover the radio area.

Let me ask you this, if you could somehow glue the piece back on, would it work? I mean, would the piece look right if it was back in it's normal position? I know a friend of mine puts together little miniature models with some wicked plastic bonding glue stuff made by "Zap-A-Gap", it's a cryanoacrylate adhesive that kind of melts the two plastics together. My friend also said if you follow up with this other product called "Zip Kicker", it accelerates the whole "Zap-A-Gap" bonding process.

I know this sounds like something off a bad episode of Star Trek, but I've seen the stuff work on plastics, and this stuff really bonds.

My friend also suggests trying the product out on some scrap pieces of plastic or whatever to get a feel of how it works.

I guess you could just get another dash.

i might have to get a new one since i couldnt find the pieace that broke off. But i would like to get that cover so could ocbaud let me know where u got it and so on.
