1979 C20 Fuel pump

1979 chevy c20
454, th400, 14 bolt rear with 3.73
dual tank.

might have an issue with fuel pump. The old fuel pump on it looked new when I replaced it.

I drove this truck 5 hours back home at 75mph when I first bought it. Then just around town with about 10 miles of highway for about 2 weeks. The truck started bogging down at times on the highway. Then left me stranded. Fuel pump went out. When I pulled the old one out, looks like the rod where the pump arm pivots broke. I replaced the fuel pump with what Autozone had. Its been about 7 weeks and about 300 miles later, I felt that bog again on the highway, I have not driven it since. About to give it another go. Video shows filter at the carb. Not sure what it could be and if that is normal. when I first replaced pump, that thing looked to always be full.

Should I use a "heavy duty" pump sourced elsewhere.

any suggestions to solve this problem would be great.
