Re: lq9 crusing RPM

I have an 86 K10 that I am hoping to swap in a 6.0/4l65 this spring. I have a set of dana 60's for it that I'm going to build up. Going to build it as a driver but also want it fully capable if I want to venture off road

I love 4L60E's used in the correct application, Yours is not one of them.......... Dana 60's & 37" tires in a heavy truck, You need a 4L80E.
32 spline NP208's are cheap & you can have TH400 adapter machined to fit a 4L80E.

I like the idea of the steeper first gear in the 4L65e. But, you may be on to something.

Cline really knows his transmissions
I would take his advice seriously.
