Re: Think i got my wheel dialed in

Thanks Guys,
Embarrassed to say I had it in at the mark Flat out engineering plans calls for
(from front of frame back to center of crossmember 27.5 inchs) well i put
it in and thought that i had the wheel centered and welded it in,
Well after double checking after i was over zealous with welding it in i found that i was an idiot and had the wheel to far forward, I couldn't live with it so cut it back out
and hate to say the Mistake cost me $211.00, had to buy new coil spring mounting brackets and C notch piece's. After My Son Convinced me to move it back 2 more inchs
I am allot happier with it and it would make seance as 58-9 frames are suppose to be 2 inches longer at the front frame horns?

Better to spend the money than have to live forever with something that annoys you every time you look at it.

Re: Think i got my wheel dialed in

Got my C-notchs moved back 2" and a little more welding and grinding
I should have them back were they belong, also filled in the recess area were the stock steering column went.

Re: Think i got my wheel dialed in

It's always a good idea to correct it now.

The wheel looks centered in the fender.

May the Forum be with you.

Re: Think i got my wheel dialed in

Glad to hear 58/59's are longer as my 57 seems good at about 5/8 forward of the 27 1/2 from front.

Re: Think i got my wheel dialed in

58CameoAZ or anyone else with FO front on 58/59... couple questions:

What was the final distance you settled on from center of the wheel to frame front?
How did you work with the boxing plates fitting weird in relation to the c notch and crossmember... did you trim it and scoot it forward or is it supposed to primarily box behind the crossmember?

Thanks!
