Roadtrip! 7 states. 8 days.

Left mn and headed to the Decatur swap meet. Kind of went the round about way stopping here and there and checking out other collections. Met up with rockc at the meet and stopped by Jens jimmy on the way home to finish filling the trailer. A little over 3100 miles. A few pics of the "finds"......

93 last Thursday in tx... too hot!

Re: Roadtrip! 7 states. 8 days.

But ya couldn't have asked for a better day than Saturday! Shouldda stopped at my house in Marlow, OK and I could've saved you the trip to Decatur (125 miles south of me). Wouldn't have had to do all that walking on a hot day to find stuff. Next time you come down, my neighbor and I can fill 10 trailers!!!

20 (+) years ago at Decatur and other swap meets down here, doors were $25, beds $50, tailgates $30-40...trim pieces, grills, bumpers galore....on and on and on, just mountains of parts. Today, you don't see very much of it. I saw the generic side/door mirrors for $40/pair, hardly any sheet metal, so if you do see something, usually pretty expensive.

Really nice finds on your road trip Eric! If you ever want to sell that tub please let me know. I know you will probably use it on one of your restorations. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

I didn't find much at the swap meet. Was there all day Friday and sat until noon.

It is decent, but not mint by any means.

I just put up a 30x48 last summer. Not near big enough! I think that cab is a 72 if you are still looking...

Re: Roadtrip! 7 states. 8 days.

Thanks for the offer. I actually drug home a whole pickup from Phoenix a couple weeks ago. Then after seeing your other threads got motivated to hit up a local yard and found some treasures also. I have to be careful it is addictive. I see why you do what you do.

Re: Roadtrip! 7 states. 8 days.

I was to excited about my finds that I forget to get pictures before I sold some of the items to pay for the ones I needed. I know if there's no pictures it didn't happen. Rookie mistake. Here is a picture when we were leaving Phoenix. Been meaning to start a thread just busy.

Well, if over the course of the next few months you get serious about coming down to OK and picking up a lot of nice sheet metal parts, let me know, because I have a lot of it. Have a neighbor buddy that has a bunch, too.

Nice parts Eric! Did you have any empty space left..... I have been to Pate but not Decatur.

I probably won't buy anything, (nothing big anyway)...... but I will be going to the Monroe, WA swap meet this Saturday to meet up with a few of the Northwest US crew. Really looking forward to it.

That should be fun. I was out there last june and got to stay with mark (livrat) for a few days. No swap meets, but got to hit a couple junkyards. Had a blast...
