1979 Chevy G20 - Temp guage sending unit HELP!!!!!!

My temp guage is all over the place, sometimes cold and sometimes hot and often times just back and forth. No rhyme or reason to it. I believe it is the sending unit, but I have no idea where that is on the engine, can anyone help me out?

Guessing you have a 350 engine? You didn't say.

Sender is between #1 and #3 spark plugs. (first two on the driver's side).

Should be a green wire covered with heat shielding going to the sender.

Check ground in your gauge cluster.
