Billet specialties has a decent selection, just keep researching. Shops like Kindig-it don't buy parts as is and paint them for the most part, they make their own parts to accent a certain piece. Which may be what you have to do to achieve your goals. What kind of designs are you thinking of?

Re: Custom sbc Valve cover?

Many get a plain cast alum cover and mill the custom name or artwork into the top..
paint or polish all or part of it.. and tada..
Anyone with a cnc mill can carve whatever you want into the alum..
I'm sure they do this to fab'd covers also.. but the alum tends to be thinner than the cast.. allowing you less material to work with..
But like anything.. I'm sure you can have a vendor that makes fab'd covers build a set with thicker top sheet..
Don't forget what you see on a show might be on a open budget vehicle..

I'd one day like to run these ..

Looks like I'm just gonna buy some plain aluim, ones and paint them the color of the body alone with the breather also. I found these types online but $500.00, I think I can do the same thing cheaper...
Thanks for all imput on this topic....

It's almost swap meet season- I've found small block covers $5 for a pair. You don't feel bad experimenting on a set for that much.
