old Japanese SUZUE tractor repair
this thing has stolen the last 4 weekends away from building my 52 chevy. went to visit my old work and it was still sitting outside where i last seen it 4 years ago so asked if i could have it
after a few hundred cranks of bleeding all the air out of the lines it fired up and ran you can see the 52 loitering under the tarp the wiring was all burnt up for some reason (tractor worked when parked like 6 years ago) also someone stole the voltage regulator off it for some reason along with the seat lol took a while to figure out what all the levers on this thing does also i found it interesting that the hydraulic oil is shared by the transmission gear box. a axle seal fell out from sitting and lost all the hydro fluid the original reason it got parked was due to the gear box breaking and couldnt find parts for it. i searched a few tractor junkyards and couldnt find anything so ordered a random one off ebay, guess i should have asked for dimensions so with a little bit of cutting and some scrap metal i had laying around part of a old trailer hitch i ghettofied a big bracket to hold the giant gear box very tight fit so hopefully the gear box works as i had to cut some stuff off of it to get it to fit, no way i can return it. all im waiting on is the steering wheel, i figured one of the ones off some of the gm columns i had laying around would fit but no luck. also have to fab a seat onto it, all the ones i have for riding lawn mowers are to wide, have to hack a inch off of one of them |

Re: old Japanese SUZUE tractor repair
i thought this thing was pretty neat, especially since i remember using it at my old jobs, its been there since about 98 and was abandoned for the steering issue around 2012.
got it all together and running last weekend. its amazing how simple the wiring is on this thing, everything is mechanical doesnt even need any power when running. had a hard time finding a seat for it that works, even the little riding lawn mower seats were too wide so ended up cutting 1.5 inches out of old john deer seat i had now thats its all together and working, probably going to park it and never use it lol. supposed to snow a bit over night maybe ill plow the front driveway with it as its all messed up anyways |

Well done! I sure have a few jobs around my place for one but...near me they are stupid money unless you buy one that is beyond saving and use three to make one.

Re: old Japanese SUZUE tractor repair
yeah i posted it on my facebook and already people want to borrow or buy it. and a guy at work wants me to take my truck and trailer bring it to his house and do a bunch of work with it in his yard for free. yeah ill get right on that. unfortunately the snow melted off the driveway before i got a chance to use it. im sure it will get some use eventually, half the fun was in the build

Re: old Japanese SUZUE tractor repair
yeah cant talk about having anything. used to be the same thing with being the only one who owned a car trailer everyone is your friend.
apparently 99.99% of the population hasnt either. i actually found a tractor forum where 2 people have one so they were able to help with a lot of questions about what the levers do and what parts were missing |

Re: old Japanese SUZUE tractor repair
blew a hydraulic line a few days ago trying lift about 300lbs worth of sandbags. went and had that one repaired, $46 after tax, what sucks is theres 14 total lines on this thing and all are pretty dry rotted and starting to split, so i just had the one fixed for now as i needed it to push a rolling chassis into the garage
i seen farm and fleet sells pretty cheap ones for under or around 10 bucks depending on length just need to find the end fittings. |
