nv4500?

I have a 85k10 truck with a 64 cab on it. I'm putting a mild built 92-350 carbed motor in it. found a nv4500 out of a 95 k2500 diesel. Will my np208 trans case mount to it or do I need a nv4500 out of a gasser? thanks

Re: nv4500?

When my '83 went from a 6.2 diesel to a 350 the SM465 4 speed and bell housing bolted right up to the 350 with a different clutch. I don't think it would be an issue.

Re: nv4500?

The 4500 has a round pattern and 32 spline male shaft in back. Is your 208 a round pattern? If the 92 is solid front axle I think it will have a passenger side drop NP241, which is similar to the NP208.

I think my np208 is going to be the issue. It's behind a 700r4 which is 27 spline. I'm not sure if the 95 has a solid axle front end or not. I sent him an email to find out

Re: nv4500?

If you have a 95 NV4500 you are going to need a NP208 from a TH400. It is round pattern and will bolt right up. They arent hard to find as this was the transfer case in the CUCVs.

Or you can find a 32 spline NP205 from a TH400. Both round pattern and race track will work with an adapter kit from Advanced Adapters.

The 95 round driver side drop and would not a solid axle unless someone swapped it in from an earlier truck.
