Hood/cowl alignment?
I had the body shop leave my cowl off so i could put all of the wiper controls in and when i bolted it up it doesnt line up. I didnt know if i just need to loosen the hood bolts to fix this or what.

Re: Hood/cowl alignment?
First question would be, how does the other side look ?
Second question would be, did the body shop not align your panel before spraying them ?

Re: Hood/cowl alignment?
Is that an after market cowl induction hood ?
I ask because I have one an it had the same issue. My body guy found it before he painted the truck, so he cut & fitted the cowl to the hood. Gary

After market cowl hood ? You had issues with the drivers door latch area from the aftermarket doors also did that get squared away ?

The other side is opposite of that side and yes he did test fit it before paint.

Re: Hood/cowl alignment?
Mine was that way also and I just shimmed the spring on one side to move it over. There is also a small amount of play where the hood attaches to the spring.

Re: Hood/cowl alignment?
With that fresh paint I think I would put down some tape on the hood and fender edges while making adjustments to maybe avoid chipping or scratching that Purdy paint.

Re: Hood/cowl alignment?
The cowl to fender gap is way to tight. Those cowls are awfully flexible. You might try pushing it over with the bolt loose.

Re: Hood/cowl alignment?
You could gently try that. Does the other side look good now. I know you showed the unpainted pic. But that cowl really needs to be on there to get it all even. Maybe they didn't line it all up after paint . Just got it close. Would they not line it all up for you? A good body man can figure it out in minutes.

Re: Hood/cowl alignment?
Well you don't want to slip and mess up your new sweet paint . So I would let them handle it in case it takes a little more work. Sometimes you have to split the differences on every panel to get it right.

Re: Hood/cowl alignment?
I had to take my truck back to the body shop for some paint issues and he got it a little closer. Im going to work on it some myself but here are some pics. The passenger side is my biggest problem.

Re: Hood/cowl alignment?
It looks like the cowl hood is nearly 1/2" too narrow at the upper corners to line up completely with the cowl panel. The fix for this could get expensive. If you choose to modify something you could modify the cowl panel to match the hood. That would be easier than trying to cut and spread the hood.
