Signal lamps help again

Had these things figured out last year, ugh! Had to pull my steering column to put in the dash seal today. Put her back together now rear lamps acting crazy! Now when I turn the lamps on the left signal dash indicator glows. Glows with signal switch harness disconnected or connected with light switch on. Left rear signal lamp blinks as it should and left brake lamp works. No lamps at all on rt rear side. No rear lamps with light switch on. What wires do I need to focus on. I got a few sketchy wires I knew where problems before but have fooled with everything and can't figure it out. All was good before pulling column that's why I wanted to just cut the thing in there.

How are the front turn signal/running lamps?
Sounds like the turn signal switch connector is not fully connected, verify and push each wire from each side of the connector together to ensure each is seated to the other, sometimes they can pull out of the plastic connector and appear to have a connection but do not.
The glowing indicator lamp should go away if you remove the turn signal bulb in the front. If it goes away then the glow is because of a bad bulb or connection.
Nothing on the right rear side is an indication of the turn signal switch not connected. you could check for power at the turn signal switch connection

The fronts work as they should. Signals and all. I'm pulling the signal switch now checking for a pinched wire. And checking all the connections. The column was spinning on the harness hopefully I'll find something there. Thanks

I helped fix this same issue earlier this week but cant find the thread right now.

Do the front side markers light up?

On the right rear, please switch the bulbs in the back side to side and post back, or check for power with a test light at the bulb pins.

Also verify the ground from the gauge cluster is attached to the right of the steering column, clipped to the lower dash...there is a lip facing up which it clips onto.

Ok I switched the bulbs but same problem. Left signals and stops but nothing on the headlamp switch mode. Front signals fine. It bothers me the signal dash indicator is on since it wasn't before and I didn't pull the dash. Thanks

Let me see if I can find this. Don't remember reattaching a ground.

I understand you didn't pull the cluster, but you did pull on the wiring for the steering column and the ground is in that same part of the harness.

Are the side markers lighting up?

Check the right rear with a ground wire, touch one end to the bumper or frame and the other end to the side of the bulb, the brass part , while the light bulb is installed and the headlights on...this provides a known ground.

The ground is attached to the dash still. Ground is good in the rear. Thanks for the input. The front side markers are working but not rears.

That glowing dash bulb should go away if you take out the front left turn signal bulb, can you verify that

Check power to the right rear taillight pins and the side marker pins

Yes it went out once I pulled it out

That bulb is bad then or the marker lamp bulb is bad, change them or change side to side

I switched them and left one still worked

Just discovered the Lt taillamps does not signal with lights on if that means anything.

Change the front bulb to the rear and see if it flashes

If you have a test light see if it flashes at the turn signal switch yellow and
Green wires, one is left turn the other is right turn

And or test pins at rear light sockets with test light

The rear turn and brake voltage begins at yellow And green at turn signal switch then follows up to by gas pedal 4 wire connection which leads to rear bed light harness

Yes still glowing and switched front to rear bulbs, no difference. Gonna run thru this wiring again. Again if I have the signal switch disconnected what's causing the lamp to glow? What wire?

I believe the glow is from the front turn signal or side marker lamp

Remove the front side marker bulb and verify front flashes and indicator is not lit with lights on

Also just as a test unhook rear light harness at firewall and see if indicator quits glowing

Stop, turn and brake is he same yellow and green wires at the rear. Difference is source of poser through turn signal switche, do you have 4 way flash at rear?
