Power steering mount

I swapped from manuel to power steering on my 67 truck and it fit perfectly.
Before I did it, I followed some tips on the internet and YouTube.
One thing that almost everyone did was to mount a bracket on the frame.
What for? My holes was exact, and the only thing I needed to do was to put some extra washers to straighten it up so the centre of the steering box, matches the centre of the column shaft.

It appears that not 67-68 frames are the same, so some work and some don't. But you should do a search for more information, as spacers will move the steering box and the center link and cause both wheels to turn to the drivers side. There are quite a few threads on this subject.

I get your point. But if I use spacers that fit perfectly true the bolts, and the holes in the frame are exactly match, there could not be any movement?

I'm sorry I stated that poorly. I didn't mean that the box would move. By using spacers the box and center link will now be "positioned" to the drivers side. This will cause the wheels to be slightly turned to the left as the center link is no longer centered in the chassis.

I'm still a little confused over your answer, but I presume you know what your talking about. I'm just an amateur regarding this subject.
